In some situations, you might want to restrict access to a test for a specific participant list. We understand! This is how you do it.

It is possible to invite a select group of people to take your Exam. All you need is a list of names and email addresses for the people that you would like to give it access.
Choosing the right access settings

Go to your Exam and click Access in the Share section:

On the following screen, select A predefined group of participants:

Adding participants to the list

Click the Add participants button to create a list of people you'd like to invite to take your Exam:

You can do this in three ways:

Import a list of participants with a .xlsx or .ods file. You can find sample files that you can use when selecting Import participants from Excel.
Manually, one-by-one. Just select Add single new participant and enter a name and email address in the pop-up box. You can Send an invitation automatically to the new participant at this point by selecting the checkbox before clicking Add.
Add existing participant(s) that you've previously invited to take other tests.

Setting up the invitation email

Now it's time to set up the invitation email that you will send out 👍.

Go to Send Email > Setup, where you will find a template for the message. Feel free to edit this text and make it your own, using your tone of voice.

Please note that there are several text elements with {tags} around them. These texts will be automatically overwritten with participant-specific information by our system. Instead of {name}, it will say the real participant's name, and instead of {password}, it will give a unique password for each participant. In other words, you should leave these {tagged} texts unchanged 😉.

Sending the invitation email

If you go to Send Email > Send, you can actually send out the invitation email, and if you would like to remind participants to take the Exam later, you can also send out reminder emails.

When a participant opens the invitation email, they can simply click on the direct link to log in and start the test!

You can track what emails have been sent to participants, and when, using the Activity log.

Note that there is a limit to the number of invitations you can send per day, and your rate limit depends on your subscription type.
